In the end of the novel, I think George was very capable of controlling the situation. He could have easily led the group the other direction away from Lennie and then brake away from them and go to Lennie. As for Lennie, if was smarter, he wouldn't of ever even had to have been in the situation. If he just knew his own strength and could think a little more like an adult, he would have never killed Curley's wife. Anyways, he didn't really have much control over any of it because he didn't even know George and the group we're looking for him to kill him.
When I was younger, and the brain of Lennie, I used to get myself into stupid situations all the time. One time I made my parents really mad by, well I can't really remember, but I think I might of taken something from someone's house. I was so little, I couldn't really think of what I was doing. After my mom found out, she was really mad and wanted to ground me for forever. She also was forcing me to go and apologize. I was shy, scared, and really didn't want to, but I had no choice. I was completely powerless. I ended up having to apologize and I was so scared. I was also grounded for a long time, but at such a young age it really didn't last long and my mom didn't really hold it. I learned from the mistake though, and haven't had to go through anything since.
